Brief Overview

In Spring 2017, I joined Metamorphosis camp as part of the marketing team. Metamorphosis is a freshman orientation camp for the School of Information Systems (SIS), Singapore Management University (SMU).

Clan Logos

Clan Red: Griffin

My first thought of Griffin was the one in Harry Potter as well (from the Prisoner of Azkaban movie). I imagined it to be a creature with an eagle’s head and wings attached to a lion’s body, legs and tails.

I began to loosely trace the reference while making adjustments to tone down the emotion while ensuring that it fits into a circle. Then, I coloured it to match the clan’s requested colour with shades of red to show the highlights and shadows.

Clan Blue: Kraken

Similar to the process for Griffin, I found the following picture and adapted it.

This needed more changes to the shape of the illustration to make it fit into a circle.

Clan White: Lycan

Since I used to play DotA, I naturally thought of Lycan to be the hero Lycanthrope, which also happened to have a quite a bit of illustrations lying around.

By picking the right details, I managed to simplify the illustration by focusing only on the main elements such as choosing the right areas to highlight (e.g. the teeth).

Clan Purple: Chiron

There was a range of illustrations from sword-wielding centaurs to bow-wielding ones and I ultimately decided on one with a bow.

I picked this illustration because it was the only one that could easily fit into a circle. I tried to reduce the number of details I could and came out with this.
